Garden of Wonder and Delight Series
Using acrylic paint, a selection of exotic and decorative papers, and a variety of craft elements, I have invented a colorful and whimsical garden depicting semi-abstract and stylized blossoms. My intention is to draw the viewer into a slice of an imaginary garden. My influences are the diagonal perspective and compressed space used by the 19th Century Japanese print makers; the flat planes of the mid Century abstract artists and the decorative cut paper pieces of European folk art.
